1Spiritual Education
This subject aims at helping students realize that the basis of knowledge lies in the Bible. Spiritual Education is included in the regular curriculum and it includes Daily Bible Reading and QT, both of which help students apply God’s teachings to their daily lives. Wednesday Chapels, Optional Lunch-break Prayer Sessions, Optional Early-morning Prayer Sessions, Optional Late-night Prayer Sessions also help students to have better faith and to find out where they can find their energy sources in life
2Main Course

Korean
This subject focuses on improving students’ Korean reading and writing. In addition, this subject exposes students to various works of Korean literature so that they have better tastes for literature.
Math
Starting from the basic mathematical skills, students have opportunities to go step by step towards higher levels of Math programs, which have been devised with the intention of applying Math to daily life. This subject help students not to lose interest in Math. Basic Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Function, and Deferential and Integral Calculus are taught both in Korean and in English so that students are better prepared for various official tests, such as the ACT, SAT and SAT Subject test.
English
This program utilizes high-tech systems to usher the beginning-level students into its listening, speaking, reading and writing classes. The English program is classified into 7 different levels according to students’ English proficiency. Each level provides students with a somewhat harsh training in vocabulary, which has been conceived according to the School’s original teaching methods of vocabulary. These methods take advantage of etymology, myths, legend, and so on to help students acquire a number of English words with greater effects. The highest-level students are encouraged to memorize about 400 words per day. Training for official tests, such as the TOEFL, ACT, and SAT is also included in the regular curriculum and special training for higher-level students is provided as well.
Social Studies
Social Studies, such as Korean History, US History, European History, and American Government, aim at helping students to function properly and be leaders in the future society as well-prepared members.
Science
Integrated Science, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry constitute the Science program, which helps students to keep interest in science by applying the principles of science in daily life. Science is taught in English so that students better adapted to the SAT and ACT.
Physical Education
Aiming at improving students’ athletic prowess, the School has prepared Sports Programs for All which could be enjoyed by girl and boy students both. These programs consist of Soccer, Basketball, Table Tennis, and Dancing which students may choose from.
Music
Professional music teachers act as mentors for the students in their respective fields: the cello, violin, flute, guitar, drum, and piano are some of the instruments which students can choose from. The School’s aim is to encourage students to play at least one instrument gracefully.
Extracurricular Activities
The Movie Club, American Drama Club, Photography Club, Cooking Club, Movie-making Club are some of the extracurricular activities that the School provides with great hopes of leading students toward an education for a whole person.
Volunteer Work
The School is actively involved in volunteer work, both domestically and internationally. Helping with senior centers in the nation as well as providing water-purifies to Cambodia, knitting wool toques for African babies, and supporting Nepalese children are some of the activities the School has actively participated in to share Jesus’ love for brothers and sisters.
Missionary Work
The School has been actively involved in helping with domestic churches in difficulties through various methods including Mentoring Camp. Furthermore, the School and the Church have tried their utmost in missionary work to support missionaries struggling in China, Thailand, and Peru.
3ENGLISH CLASSES DIVIDED INTO 7 LEVELS
YGCS’s English classes are divided into 7 different levels. The students attend classes according to their English proficiency, irrespective of their grades.
Level 1
The objective of Level 1 is to help the students improve their pronunciation and acquire basic conversational English
Level 2
The students are trained to learn essential English words by heart and to read easy English books.
Level 3
The students are supposed to learn basic English grammar and practice writing short English essays.
Level 4
The students are intensively trained to improve their listening, speaking and reading abilities.
level 5
The students have chances to express their opinions with 3-minute presentations and to try various college-level lectures.
level 6
The objective of level 6 is to help the students have English proficiency high enough to get over 100 on the iBT Toefl. The students are trained to be more familiar with English grammar, to read a 700-word passage within 4 minutes, and write a 250-word essay within 25 minutes.
Level 7
The students are helped to memorize about 400 words a day, write ACT or SAT essays, and enjoy critical reading. The students are educated to read and criticize English novels and short stories.
Vocabulary Training
Intensive vocabulary training is most essential in YGCS’s English education. YGCS helps the students memorize English words through various methods, such as learning through etymology, myths or legends, and easy derivatives. The students who have faithfully finished the training are expected to memorize about 50,000 words and therefore great confidence in English when they study abroad after graduation.
Essay Writing
YGCS’s training for English essay writing has proved effective in that many students have earned high scores (34-35) and even perfect scores (36) on the ACT. YGCS’s English teachers give their students essay writing assignments every day and proofread
English Reading
The students are trained to read English passages fast enough. The objective is to help the students to read a 700-word passage within 4 minutes. The students also have opportunities to read many English novels and short stories.
English Grammar
The students are helped to learn about essential English grammar through 40 chapters with a grammar book published by YGCS.
English Conversation
The students can improve their conversational English through English-native speakers. As their English improves, the students are capable of expressing their opinions at a discussion.
